A British online pharmacy and CVS that was struggling to sell the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra had been forced to shut down because they were too expensive.

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society said Viagra was the only medicine for which Pfizer's decision to buy CVS and the UK's major generic drugstore CVS resulted in the current cost of the erectile dysfunction drug to be £2.7m.
"This decision is very unfortunate for the patients who are suffering and should be given their time to make an informed decision," the society said in a statement.
The group said it was "delighted" to have made this decision, which the MHRA said was due to the increasing availability of the drug.
It added that patients who have suffered heart attacks, strokes and other serious side effects had to seek emergency treatment, including hospitalisation.
But the online pharmacy had been struggling to sell Viagra, the group said, because it was not a branded drug.
Viagra has been available since the drug was launched in 1998, the group said, but the company had not received any response from the NHS to its decision to cancel the sale.
But it is not clear whether the pharmaceutical firm has taken action against the MHRA.
